Scope of Work: PANAAWTM Oral History Project Webpage Development

Position Title: Multimedia Designer

Type of Work: Contract

Project Duration: August-October 2025

Compensation: $50/hour for approximately 20-30 hours total

Supervised by: Oral History Project Director

Eligibility: PANAAWTM members, staff, and referrals who are based and authorized to work in the US


Project Overview

PANAAWTM is launching a oral history project section on its existing website for Fall 2025, as part of its 40th anniversary commemoration. The oral history project team is composed of 5 members who have each interviewed a PANAAWTM elder/foremother. The oral history project webpage will serve as a public oral history archive and community resource that proRiles each PANAAWTM elder/foremother, including multimedia elements from their interviews and additional materials (photos, links to publications, etc.)


We are seeking a freelance multimedia designer to support the design, buildout, and publication of the website page. This individual will work closely with the Oral History Project Team to cull content from interview and archival materials, and to develop assets for the project webpage.

A 501c non-profit organization, PANAAWTM is a transnational feminist network for people of Asian heritage who identify as women or non-binary. We are an LGBTQIA-affirming organization. Scope of Work & Deliverables

1. Meeting & Collaboration

a. Participate in planning meetings with the PANAAWTM Oral History Project Director, Team, and PANAAWTM staff to co-design webpage layout

b. Ongoing communication via email or shared documents

2. Materials Development

a. Gather materials from Project team members and streamline use of materials

b. Design project visual elements, including a logo (as relevant), type, colors, images, and overall aesthetic

c. Edit clips of interviews to be posted, adding graphics as necessary

d. Organize interview recordings and transcripts that will be linked from the Project webpage

e. Photoshop/edit images (photos)

3. Webpage Publication

a. Work with PANAAWTM Communications Manager to create and publish the Project webpage

b. Meet with Team members and relevant PANAAWTM stakeholders to finalize and approve webpage design


Qualifications

● Proven experience designing multimedia projects and editing videos, experience with oral history projects preferred

● Proficient with the Wix platform

● Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

● Ability to work independently and meet deadlines for a quick turnaround project

● Familiarity with grassroots organizations or social justice frameworks a plus


Compensation & Timeline

● $50/hour; estimated 20-30 total hours of work

● Timeframe: Work to be completed by October 2025

● Deliverables to be completed on a rolling basis, with final drafts submitted by deadline
