Hee Jin Lee Works for Trauma-Informed Pastoral Counseling

Hee Jin Lee from Korea is an Angella P. Current-Felder Woman of Color scholar at Emory University's Candler School of Theology. This scholarship program provides financial and intellectual support for United Methodist women of color pursuing doctorates in religious studies in seminaries and universities in the US. She is using her life experiences to develop a theology of pastoral counseling to help others heal from the traumas of violence.

In 2013, she attended a PANAAWTM conference with the theme "Dangerous Memories: Theologies in a Time of War and Healing" held at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. She gained new insights about the experiences of violence and trauma. You can read more about her story here.

We contribute to Asian and North American Asian women's theology, mentor female leaders of faith communities, and engage in social transformation for justice. We invite you to partner with us and support our work.
